Regarded an institution in offshore racing, the French Transat Café L’Or is a true highlight of the sailing calendar. Held for over 20 years, this double-handed race runs between Europe and America. Extremely demanding, this sailing trial requires skippers to demonstrate determination, courage and resilience. Finishing is an achievement in itself.
Baltic is delighted to be taking part in this 17th edition of the Transat Café L'Or as Official Timekeeper. The strat will be given on Sunday, October 26th in Le Havre, with skippers setting sail for Martinique. 74 crews will then be left to their own devices as they cross the Atlantic Ocean.
To bring this project to life, we will be supporting a Class40 team led by skipper Lomano Takasi. This choice is no coincidence: the Class40 embodies adventure, self-surpassing, and passion. It brings together sailors from all backgrounds - from future legends to ocean lovers - in a fiercely competitive yet accessible atmosphere.
These are precisely the human and sporting values which unite Baltic and the Transat Café L’Or.

Offering a blend of our own design codes with those of sailing, this new Scalegraph draws its inspiration from offshore racing. The case features a bezel created specifically for the occasion. Graduated in knots over 1/10th nautical mile, allowing the skipper to measure the average speed a sailing boat could achieve.
The dial of this special edition is adorned with an elegant metallic champagne colour, contrasting with the ringed sub-counters. These echo the concentric index line, while adding depth and volume to the overall composition. The bright orange hands enhance legibility under racing conditions. One of these hands highlights the distinctive “Big Eye” sub-counter, which never goes unnoticed. Azure-finished and graduated in reverse over 15 minutes, it allows the skipper to monitor the start of his regatta.
The Scalegraph Transat Café L’Or Limited Edition is fitted with screw-down pushers, pushing water resistance to 100 metres.
This watch is powered by the SW511 BH a calibre, a hand-wound mechanical chronograph movement developed by Swiss manufacture Sellita. With a power reserve of over 60 hours, this complication movement is renowned for its exemplary reliability.
These features give the Scalegraph its exceptional resistance.

Featuring a double-domed sapphire crystal and a 316L steel case, the Scalegraph offers an elegant 14.1mm thickness and 47mm lug to lug.
Those materials and dimensions give the chronograph a refined look with a feel of toughness.

To celebrate our first participation as Official Timekeeper of the Transat Café L'Or, 200 numbered pieces of this new Scalegraph will be produced. This limited edition will never be reproduced again.
Baltic Sets Sail
On October 26th nearly 200 sailors will set off from Le Havre on the Route du Café. Among them, a Class40 - a 40-foot monohull racing boat - will proudly sail under Baltic’s colors. More than just Official Timekeeper, we are thrilled to be supporting a crew led by skipper Lomano Takasi. Lomano embodies the new generation of overseas sailors.
