We were delighted and honored to participate for the second time in the Only Watch charity auction held on May 10th, 2024 in Geneva. An event that unites the watch industry around a common goal: to raise awareness and funds for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
On this occasion, we had the pleasure to present our new fine watchmaking studio, Baltic Experiments, with this unique Premier Quantième Perpétuel. Over the past two years, we've been pushing our own boundaries by doing what previously seemed impossible: developing our own Perpetual Calendar module. This project finally became a reality thanks to the collaboration with the talented watchmakers of Maclef, founded by Emmanuel Bouchet.
We aimed to establish a timeless, easily legible method of presenting all the essential elements of a Perpetual Calendar. The meticulously balanced dial features three sub-registers to indicate the day of the week, month, leap year and moon phase, accompanied by a continuous seconds hand. The day of the month is indicated by the third main hand and is positioned towards the outer edge of the watch, harmoniously completing the overall aesthetic.
The heart of the Premier Quantième Perpétuel is the result of over two years of research and development in collaboration with the experienced watchmakers of the Maclef company. The in-house module, enabling the perpetual calendar to function, is implemented in a Vaucher 5401 micro-rotor movement whose bridges have been reworked.
The case of the Premier Quantième Perpétuel is made of stainless steel and Grade 5 titanium. It is 37mm in diameter, 44mm lug to lug and has a slim, elegant 9,8mm profile.
Estimated between 20,000 and 30,000 CHF, we couldn’t have been prouder to see this watch go for 55,000 CHF in support of this noble cause.
